One of the most defining weather events that occur in the north of Queensland are cyclones and tropical lows. Living in a tropical region has many benefits, which include good rainfall, sunny summer weather in the traditional winter season and the mix of the bush meeting the tropics.
The alternative to the benefits of living in tropical paradise is cyclone season and the devastation it brings when you live in paradise. While we can’t change Mother Nature we can be prepared for what comes after an event.

So let’s talk about food. We know a lot of our customers have beef jerky in their grab bags. Beef jerky has a long shelf life, our Bud Brothers Jerky has been clinically tested and certified for a 6 month shelf life. We’re aiming to get that higher.
All that said, having beef jerky in your grab bag could be the difference between having a snack or meal and not, after the event. Canned items are a good option in you cyclone kit, but we’re sure some beef jerky would be a big hit in the aftermath of the event. When there is no power, beef jerky is ready to eat.
